Atlanta Public Library documents
The Atlanta Public Library records include correspondence and newsclippings documenting the construction of the original library and the commissioning of a marble bust of Andrew Carnegie by sculptor Gaetano Trentanove. The records also include newsclippings regarding the controversy over the decision to demolish the original library building.
Friends of the Library collection
This collection contains correspondence and some organizational records. The bulk of the materials were gathered by Franklin Garrett and pertain to his involvement in the organization. Other materials include newspaper clippings and newsletters.
James Larwood collection
This collection contains the first twelve of a series of booklets published by the Atlanta Public Library for their exhibition of selections from Mr. Larwood’s library of Georgiana. Also included are two scrapbooks of newspaper clippings concerning the collection which is now housed at Oglethorpe University.
